Federal govt accepted Swat deal on ANP’s desire: Sherry

ISLAMABAD: The federal government endorsed the Swat peace deal in line with the desire of Awami National Party, former federal information minister Sherry Rehman said on Thursday.Talking to Geo News, PPP leader said Taliban had not adhered to the agreement it signed with the government. “There is a need to reconsider the deal,” she noted.The provincial government had kept its powers over implementation of Nizam-e-Adl in 1994, she recalled, adding that the present provincial government had lost its powers under the new deal. Sherry added Taliban’s coming to the federal capital is not just child’s play, saying that the government will heave to be careful.The former minister said that she was never in favour of Swat truce deal.
